Swam.. not very far. Didn't make it in to run this morning. Just too cold to get out of bed. I was also tired.

Anyways, the swim was good.. but they kept making me switch lanes.. then finally took all the available swim lanes. Pisses me off something fierce. They said when I signed up at the gym, there would always be one lane open for lap swimming. Not entirely true. What I really need to do is just swim in the mornings and run/lift in the evenings.

Stupid public pools.. I miss swim team... structured workouts, people there who challenged me.. man, what I wouldn't give to have started swimming as a freshman.

Lifted.. no aerobic.

Running and swimming tomorrow.

Hopefully one in the morning, the other in the evening before Aikido.

Also, damn the gym is crowded... going to be 3 weeks of people trying to fulfill new year's resolutions. Always annoying.

New Year

Going to try my best to update on my daily/weekly workouts.

Still too cold to ride, so I'll be putting that off for the most part until I can either get somewhere warmer, or until it gets warmer here.

My focus for the next few months will be strength training, running, and swimming.

Today I swam around 1800 yards. I got to the pool late and only had about 30 minutes to swim.

considering everything else, and the fact that I just got back from 2 weeks of vacation.. I think I did pretty good.

Tomorrow I'm going to do my best to lift a little.. and then run. Going to take it easy on the run and just put in about 4 miles on the treadmill. I want to work my way up to doing about 60-90 minutes of running 4 times a week... at roughly a 7 minute mile pace.. with warm up and cool down.. so around 40 miles a week.. we'll see how that goes and how I hold up to it. But that is probably a month away at least. I'm hoping to just be able to survive ten-minutes on the damn things.

Anyways, good luck guys.

Weekend

Rides:
Sat. 52 miles/avg. unknown.
It rained.. I was cold.. but went up the hills fast. So I'm happy with this ride.

Sun. 47 miles/19.2 average.
Windy.. very windy. Got to the start late due to a race which had closed off a road. But I caught the group in about 6 miles... though I killed myself to do it. Didn't hydrate enough on this ride. I need to make it a point to drink more even if it is cold.

Need to start running again.. and swimming a lot more.

Bah.

Thursday

Ride:
32 miles/20+ average.

I need to get a computer.

Or a powertap.

Probably going to go with the latter.. since I like new toys.

Tuesday Ride

Ride:
~32 miles/22.4 avg

I got into a yelling match with a guy today. Was about 5 bikes back and they weren't pointing out holes. So I almost ate it twice in a half-mile stretch so I was yelling and cursing quite a bit. Someone got all in my face and we argued for a bit... then he fell back to complain to someone. But I talked to the president of the club after the ride and he was glad someone else is yelling at those idiots. The guys in question are not club members and really drive everyone crazy.

After the ride the "captain" of these guys... comes up to me and explains that I should be nicer. That the guys in question are riding as hard as they can (like 25mph.. heh) and can't even see the holes they are working so hard. I pointed out the flaws in his logic.. that I don't think people who can't keep the pace and not see road hazards/stop signs/traffic lights should be at the front trying to set the pace.

Freaking idiots.

End rant
